Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee all financial and accounting operations, ensuring alignment with OTO’s strategic goals and operational needs;
• Supervise the finance and accounting team, ensuring efficient financial operations and timely processing of all financial transactions;
• Ensure the timely reconciliation of accounts payable and receivable, maintaining healthy cash flow;
• Oversee the budgeting process, working with department heads to align financial plans with business objectives;
• Monitor budget performance regularly, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions as needed to ensure financial discipline;
• Ensure ongoing budget control, helping department heads stay within their financial limits while achieving operational goals;
• Prepare and present accurate financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) to the executive team, highlighting key performance indicators and actionable insights;
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis and forecasting, to provide actionable insights that support OTO’s growth and profitability;
• Supervise the generation of client invoices and ensure their timely processing, in alignment with contractual agreements and company policies;
• Conduct financial reviews of new products and services, evaluating their feasibility, profitability, and overall financial impact on the business;
• Provide financial guidance for product development and market entry initiatives to ensure strategic alignment with OTO's long-term goals;
• Collaborate with the product and sales teams to assess pricing models and profitability strategies for new offerings;
• Manage taxation processes, including VAT compliance, audits, and returns, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Turkey, and Delaware;
• Collaborate with external CPAs for tax reporting for the Delaware entity and auditing firms for Saudi, UAE, and Turkey operations;
• Ensure compliance with international tax regulations and maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable financial and regulatory standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS);
• Support OTO’s fundraising efforts by preparing and presenting financial forecasts, models, and key performance indicators to potential investors;
• Play a key role in planning and executing future fundraising rounds by collaborating with the executive team on financial strategies and investor relations;
• Lead internal and external audits, ensuring that financial activities comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and OTO’s internal policies;
• Develop and document financial policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and ensure compliance with relevant regulations in the shipping and logistics industry;
• Manage cash flow to ensure the company maintains sufficient liquidity for operations and growth initiatives;
• Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks to safeguard OTO’s financial interests, implementing strategies to optimize financial performance and reduce costs;
• Develop and implement investment strategies for surplus funds, ensuring compliance with Sharia principles and regulations in Saudi Arabia;
• Identify and manage Sharia-compliant investment opportunities, such as Murabaha deposits, to generate returns on idle funds;
• Monitor investment performance and adjust strategies as necessary to optimize returns while minimizing risks;
• Evaluate and recommend enhancements to OTO’s accounting systems and financial processes to improve efficiency and scalability;
• Ensure financial systems and procedures meet the specific needs of OTO’s operations and clients, especially in the shipping and SaaS sectors;
• Collaborate with other department heads (product, operations, sales, etc.) to ensure financial decisions are aligned with overall business goals;
• Work closely with external stakeholders, including auditors, legal teams, investors, and tax authorities, to ensure financial accuracy and compliance;
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement;
• Set clear performance objectives for the finance team and ensure they have the resources and support needed to succeed;
• Any other duties as required by management.

Requirements:

For this role, it is essential that have 

• Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, CPA) preferred.
• Professional certifications: such as CFA, CMA, or equivalent are a plus.
• Experience: Proven experience (8+ years) in financial roles, with at least 5+ years in senior management.

It will be considered a big plus if you:

• Previous work in fast-growing SaaS start-ups
